David Kaplan

Photo of David KaplanIn his early career, David Kaplan worked in the sportscar and motor racing field, training under Peter Seferian before joining the professional racing team at Autodynamics Inc. He travelled with Can-Am and Trans-Am teams and later ran the marketing department. At DSK Cars in Marblehead Mass, he designed and manufactured sports/racing cars by hand from raw materials. Mr. Kaplan sold DSK Cars to attend Amherst College. There he earned a Phi Beta Kappa and BA Magna cum Laude. He then earned a JD with honors from Harvard Law School. Mr. Kaplan served as General Counsel and Director of Marketing at Callaway Engineering and consulted to the world-wide auto industry at Temple, Barker and Sloan. He founded several enterprises including PoleStar LLC, a consultancy to entrepreneurs; Your Auto Expert, an alternative Internet-based car retailer and; Purgatory Cove Press, the publisher of the four fishing guide books he wrote about Middlesex County Massachusetts. Mr. Kaplan served as an affiliate at the Boston University Healthcare Entrepreneurship Program and taught Entrepreneurial Management at B.U. He has consulted in business strategy, planning and business plan writing since 1994. He lives with his wife Nicky in Sudbury, Massachusetts.
